For Personal Protective Equipment

In cases where personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn it is imperative that any contaminant or other unpleasant substance is thoroughly washed off prior to removal. This is necessary, not only for the health and safety of the individual (in line with current legislation), but also to preserve the effective life of this very costly equipment. All models in this range of decontamination showers (with the exception of model DEC-D-29 and the damping shower) have been specially designed to introduce a detergent into the water flow. This is necessary to ensure a thorough and speedy decontamination.

Operation of PPE Decontamination Showers

The operation of these showers is in two stages-the detergent application, followed by the water drench. The detergent is induced into the flow of water which delivers a mixture of diluted detergent through an overhead shower and a hose brush. The hose brush is of a car wash type and is fitted to assist in the decontamination process when dealing with difficult or excessive spillages. The second stage, the water drench, is delivered from eight high velocity spray nozzles from the sides and two high velocity, high flow rate nozzles from above.
