Immersion or trace heating is available. When an immersion heater is fitted, the 100 watt element is easily removed for servicing or replacement. All heated models are fitted with failsafe dual thermostats.

Note: units are not designed to deliver warm water at a constant temperature; cool water is preferable as it soothes the affected area and reduces absorption of chemicals through the skin. Water in the standpipe is heated to 20°C to prevent freezing and avoid shocking the victim with the initial deluge.

Spray nozzles are self draining to eliminate the build-up of bacteria and are easily removed for cleaning.

Using emergency safety showers in cold climates poses particular problems for casualties. Temperature controlled showers are intended for outdoor use in low ambient conditions and are designed to remain on standby to deliver warm water for up to 15 minutes to avoid the casualty going in to shock.

Showers in the temperature controlled range have an integral heated tank to deliver warm water by mixing it with the mains fed cold supply. They can also be used as a warm water source to feed other emergency shower units in the local vicinity.

The temperature controlled shower cubicle uses a standard immersion or trace heated shower unit within a temperature controlled cabin. The casualty is afforded protection from the elements while showering and, if necessary, can remain in the protected environment until help arrives.

All models in this range incorporate self-draining shower valves to ensure that no water is left in the standpipe, thus eliminating the possibility of the water in the standpipe overheating from the effects of solar radiation.

When these models are combined with underground water supplies, any possibility of the user becoming scalded is eliminated.
