Emergency Eye Wash & Facewash Equipment
| Plumbed Units |
|
In an endeavor to keep abreast of the ever increasing legislation concerning the provision of adequate first-aid equipment and facilities, we have expanded and improved our already comprehensive range of emergency eyewash and face wash modes.
With our extensive range, we can cater for all possible applications; whether in a factory, washroom, laboratory or even a school. All models are built to the highest standards and are designed to be very quick and simple to operate.
Most of the eyewash and face wash units within this range are designed for use indoors but may be located outdoors in warm climates.
These products are designed to wash away contaminants from the eyes and face quickly and continuously for 10-15 minutes or longer, as recommended by the International Health and Safety Organizations.
Eyewash bottles containing a saline solution alone do not meet the criteria; such bottles should only be used after a 10-15 minute wash using a plumbed-in-eyewash or face wash unit.

| Portable |
|
Where eyewash facilities are required at specific locations that are unsuitable for fixed installations the portable range offers an effective solution. It means that emergency treatment can be available at any workplace providing vital first-aid.
They are ideal for large sites, and as part of the on-board first-aid equipment carried by road tankers and other vehicles transporting dangerous chemicals.
Rechargeable cylinder units are convenient and easily carried, providing essential first-aid until the casualty is moved to an eye/face wash installation capable of delivering the 10-15 minutes continuous flushing, recommended by the International Health and Safety Organizations. Larger mobile units can sustain a longer period of flushing and, with the addition of the optiflex hand held shower, both the cylinder and mobile units can be used to wash minor contamination from all parts of the body.

| Optional Fittings |
|
A wide range of optional fittings are available for use with eyewash and face wash fountains. They are designed to contribute towards the effectiveness of the equipment by enhancing its performance and making it easier to use in cases of emergency.
Quality is the key consideration for any safety equipment and all optional fittings are designed and built to the same high standards throughout the Hughes range. Careful choice of materials ensures reliable operation and a long, trouble-free life.
Care must be taken wherever water is left standing for lengthy periods. The eyes are particularly susceptible to infection and damage, and to wash them with contaminated water could be counterproductive. To ensure that standing water remains safe to use, Hughes offer a range of additives to inhibit the growth of potentially harmful bacteria. Cleaning kits are also available for routine use to maintain safe, hygienic conditions.
